Nigeria vs Tazania - Tiwa Savage accused of rigging award meant for Vanessa Mdee

- However, Tanzanians are not thrilled about this as they believed the award was rigged seeing that Vanessa got more votes
At an award show recently organised by Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards, Tiwa Savage was declared the most stylish celebrity beating her fellow contender, Tanzanian singer, Vanessa Mdee.
However, not everyone thinks the award rightfully belongs to Tiwa. A lot of Tanzanians, most of which are fans of Vanessa have accused Tiwa Savage of buying the awards as they believe Vanessa Mdee was the winner since she reportedly got more votes.
Tiwa who did not attend the show recently took to her Instagram page to post a picture of the award, thanking her the organizers and the whole team for helping her win the award. She wrote: "Woke up to this ❤❤❤Thank you so much to the whole team at Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards. Sad I missed the amazing event #asfa2017 ��"

The issue has since sparked social media outrage as a lot of people have come out to express their disapproval, one of which is a fan page of Vanessa Mdee. According to the page: "Hellow Guys This is not fair at all...as u can see when u swipe to the left @vanessamdee leads in votes both the hashtag and normal votes... But due to evil someone else was given the award... @abryanzstyleandfashionawards return the award where it belongs other wise u shouldn't have asked us to vote since u had ur winnerMungu Anawaona #TunatakaTuzoYetu #Vanessandeewins #Asfa17 #Asfa2017 Tuungane twendeni kwenye page yao tukawaambie warudishe tuzo yetu #TeamTz"

According to reports, the winners are selected by the number of hashtags they got and it was believed that Vanessa Mdee’s fans had campaign to get her more votes which amounted to 552 hashtags, while Nigeria’s Tiwa Savage got just 70 as at the time of the award.
Despite all the outrage, neither Vanessa Mdee, Tiwa Savage or the organizers of the award show have commented on the issue.
