Mr.Yekini Ishola, deputy-director of the Department of State Security (DSS) in-charge of security in Anambra state has said that lack of experts in cybersecurity and technology leaves Nigeria prone to cybercrimes.
He made the disclosure while presenting a paper on cybercrimes and the way out at a two-day annual security seminar organized by the security department of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka.

The seminar was tagged “Developing Technological Strategy Towards Crime Reduction In Tertiary Institution.”
The DSS deputy director said that internet fraud is more prevalent in the south west, especially Lagos, Ogun and Oyo.
He also mentioned that Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) is considered to have the highest concentration of cyber criminals in the country.
He said cybercrimes are not committed by an individual, but a network of criminal activities perpetrated by syndicates using what he referred to as identity theft, hacking, stocking, malicious software and other dubious means to gain access into personal information and account details.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng came across a post shared by a Nigerian man who decided to expose a man who he claimed accessed his bank account after stealing his phone.
According to a post shared by a Twitter user identified as Opeyemi Adekoya, he was recently robbed and lost his phone to the robbers.
However, he decided to make his ordeal public after the person who allegedly stole his phone gained access to his bank account using bank details he had on the phone.
