Ipob supporters protest in Turkey as Buhari finishes his visit for D-8 summit

- IPOB supporters staged a peaceful protest in Turkey demanding the secession of Biafra from Nigeria

- The protest was carried out under the watchful eyes of Turkey police

- President Buhari was in the country for the D-8 summit

Some members of the separatist group Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Saturday, October 21 staged a protest in Turkey just as President Muhammadu Buhari ended his visit to the country.

Pictures acquired by Legit.ng showed IPOB supporters carrying paraphernalia of the group such as flags and T-shirts sporting the name of the desire republic.

The supporters staged the protest under the watchful eyes of police in Turkey who kept things as peaceful as possible.

Legit.ng recalls that President Buhari arrived in Turkey on Wednesday, October 18 to take part in the Developing 8 (D-8) Summit, which began on Friday, October 20.

The president arrived in Turkey, in company of his wife, Aisha, as well as other dignitaries.

The presidential aircraft reportedly touched down at the Esenboğa International Airport, in Ankara, the Turkish capital, at 6.20pm local time.
