Group lists 8 similarities between IPOB and Boko Haram
- Coalition of civil society organizations for transparency and good governance has listed 8 similarities between IPOB and Boko Haram
- The group also likened IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu to Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau
- It said that both groups radicalized youths
A coalition of civil society organizations for transparency and good governance has revealed that the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) led by Nnamdi Kanu were similar to that of the dread Boko Haram sect.
Legit.ng gathered that the national coordinator of the coalition, Patriot Sabo Ode likened Nnamdi Kanu to Abubakar Shekau, the head of the Boko Haram group during a press conference on Tuesday, September 19.

According to him, the similarities include:
1. Kanu had declared ‘Biafra republic’ same as Shekau declared an Islamic caliphate;
2. Kanu called Nigerians animals while Shekau called them infidels.
3. Both men promised to deliver the heads of Nigerian Presidents to their declared enclaves;
4. IPOB and Boko Haram adopted flags other than the green-white-green;
5. They formed cabinets;
6. They radicalised youths,
7. They called for attacks on Nigeria and Nigerians;

8. They both declared the Nigerian military as their enemy.
“Both men promised to deliver the heads of Nigerian presidents to their declared enclaves; IPOB and Boko Haram adopted flags other than the green-white-green; they formed cabinets; they radicalised youths, they called for attacks on Nigeria and Nigerians; and they both declared the state and its military as their enemy,” Ode said.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that the Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Tukur Buratai revealed that the Defence Headquarters did not declare the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) a terrorist organisation in Nigeria.
