National Assembly gets 7 new permanent secretaries (LIST)
On Tuesday, August 29, the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) announced the appointment of 7 new permanent secretaries in a statement by Bullah Bi-Allah, on behalf of the director, Information.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Acting President Yemi Osinbajo had on August 1 made 36 new appointments in the federal government agencies.
The acting president appointed Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye as the chairman of Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
Below is the list of the recently appointed new permanent secretaries:
1. Clerk of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Adamu Abdulkadir
2. Mr Giwa Ahonkahi, deputy clerk of the House (legislative)
3. Mrs Muhammed Aishatu, deputy clerk of the House (administrative)

4. Mr Ojo Amos, secretary Procurement, Estate and Works Department.
5. Dibai Adamu, secretary, Research and Information
6. Mahmud Abubakar, secretary, Human Resources and Staff Development Directorate
7. Mrs Patience Iku, deputy clerk, Senate (administration)
According to NAN, Bi-Allah said the appointment was “sequel to the issuance of appointment letters to the appointees by the clerk of the National Assembly, Alhaji Mohammed Sani-Omolori."
Their letters of appointment were signed by the executive chairman of NASC, Adamu Fika, indicating that the appointments took effect from August 24.
This followed the approval of same at the commission’s meeting.
While congratulating them, the letter stressed:“The appointments are in recognition of the appointees’ hard work, dedication, administrative competence and enjoined them to continue to uphold the confidence reposed in them."
Meanwhile, when President Muhammadu Buhari returned to the country on Saturday, August 19, he addresed the nation on Monday, August 21.
