Go and learn from your performing colleagues - Ex-lawmaker mocks Fayose
- Governor Ayodele Fayose recently declared he would become Nigeria's next president
- Bamidele Faparusi, a former member of the House of Representatives, thinks Fayose has only succeeded in debasing Ekiti people
- Faparusi took time to compare Fayose with Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state who just launched an ultra-modern rice mill
Days after Ayodele Fayose reportedly declared his plans to contest the 2019 presidency, a former member of the House of Representatives, Bamidele Faparusi, has told the Ekiti governor to go learn from his performing colleagues in other states.
The Nation reports that Faparusi begged Fayose to ensure he learns from other governors the best way to boost his state’s revenue.
Legit.ng learnt that while speaking in Birnin-Kebbi, Kebbi state capital, during the inauguration of a N10 billion rice mill by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, Faparusi commended the administration of Governor Atiku Bagudu for its achievements.

According to the lawmaker, Ekiti has comparative advantage in the area of rice production and if Fayose had shifted attention to that area, Kebbi’s achievement would have been recorded in the state.
Faparusi asked Fayose to concentrate on boosting the standard of living of the Ekiti state people instead of distributing ‘highly debasing sachets of rice to people as if they were beggars’.
According to the former lawmaker, it is disheartening how the government of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state has debased the people and upgraded begging to statecraft.
He noted that Kebbi state has been launched into the global space with the achievement of Governor Bagudu.
“Nigerians were aware of the comparative advantage Ekiti has in rice production.

“The local Igbemo rice has become a household delicacy the people sought after because of its nutritional values,” he said.
Legit.ng earlier reported how Governor Ayodele Fayose boasted that he would become the next president of Nigeria by taking over the reins of power from President Muhammadu Buhari.
Fayose made the statement on Friday, June 16, when he spoke at a meeting with political office holders at the Government’s House, Ado Ekiti, the Vanguard reports.
He said he wants to be the next president of Nigeria, promising that his administration won’t be like that of the current government that has brought nothing to Nigerians.
