Anambra guber: Senator Andy Uba socializes with Anambraians, promises them a better deal if elected

- All eyes are on Anambra state as the preparations for the forthcoming governorship election are in top gear

- Political activities in the state are gaining momentum

- At the forefront of it all is Senator Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress (APC)

The campaign train of Senator Andy Uba is not relenting in it quest to interact with all sections of the society in Anambra state.

Despite his tight schedule as a senator and a governorship aspirant, Dr. Andy Uba, still makes out time to socialize with his own people at the grass root level.

In his usual character of interacting with the populace and show of benevolence, Legit.ng gathered that the senator fed thousands of people today, Thursday, July 20 at Umuoru- Uga in Aguata local government area of the state.

The senator who represents Anambra South Senatorial District told journalists present that he loves being around his people and sharing in their experiences.

His words: “I believe in helping my people and you cannot help a man if you do not know what his problems are and how he feels, that is why from time to time I come down to my people to take care of their well being.

“Secondly, there is so much hunger in the country, people are suffering. No money! No food! It gives me joy to feed these thousands of people here today, it is my way of showing that I care and if given the mandate to be their governor, my government will be a government that is based on the people.”

Those who were beneficiaries of the senator's gesture expressed joy and satisfaction with his actions.

“Truly I am overwhelmed, I have not seen this type of thing before. This is what we need. Every day I hear about government supporting people and feeding school children only on pages of papers... it is never acted upon but with what I have witnessed I strongly believe Andy Uba is a man of action who also cares for his people,” one of the beneficiaries,” Nwankwo Joseph told journalists.

Ezibe Blessing a student of Girls High School Uga, who was also present with many other students, said she was full of delight and surprise.

“I am highly delighted at what the senator is doing. Feeding this massive crowd including students is really encouraging. I also want to use this opportunity to thank the senator.

“Any time we call on him he answers us . He renovated our school and is currently rehabilitating our school hostels,” she said.

Legit.ng reported on Wednesday, July 19 that Senator Uba led 40 APC senators to the national secretariat of the party to pick up his nomination form for the party's primary election.

Senator Uba was accompanied to the secretariat with heavy weights such as Senator Dino Melaye, Shehu Sani, Bayero Nafada, Monsurat Sunmonu and John Enoh.

The atmosphere at the secretariat was fully charged as supporters of the senator were around to welcome and drum up support for his ambition.
