IPOB members storm church and order guber aspirant to stop campaigning in Anambra
- The youths say they did not want politicians in the state any more since they now have Biafra to look forward to
- Ezeemo refuses to back down because, according to him, he is also a pro-Biafra agitator who has made contributions to the movement
- IPOB had vowed to stop upcoming November elections in the southeast state
The Punch is reporting that youths suspected to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) reportedly disrupted a church programme attended by a governorship aspirant in Anambra state.
The attack occurred at Odoekpe, Ogbaru Local Government Area of the state and involved Godwin Ezeemo, who is running on the platform of the Progressives Peoples Alliance.
Ezeemo was at Ogbaru to worship at God’s Own Pentecostal Church when the assailants carrying Biafra flags and singing Biafran songs stormed the worship centre.
The youths ordered him and his entourage to leave the place.

“Many politicians have been lying to us and used us for so long ; we don’t need them again.
“Our youths are jobless, our roads are bad. We want our freedom and we do not want all these politicians here anymore,” an angry youth said.
On his part, Ezeemo stood his ground and replied the youths in the chaos that followed the order.
He said: “I’m a Biafran in practice given that I brought down all my investments to my homeland.
“I can understand the agitation of these youths. We have been lied to for so long by these politicians but I left Britain to come back home so that I can make things right. Just give me a chance, I will not let you down.”
Legit.ng had earlier reported that IPOB, on Sunday, July 9, insisted that the November 18 governorship election in Anambra state would not hold.
IPOB said the group would not allow any election process that would perpetuate slave status and misery among the people of the area.
Legit.ng gathered that in a statement by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful in Awka, the Anambra state capital, IPOB said it had not shifted ground on the issue contrary to insinuations in some quarters.
