BREAKING: APC loses heavily as PDP's Adeleke wins Osun bye-election
- Ademola Adeleke in a shock victory defeated the APC in Osun west by-election

Ademola Adeleke who is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been declared winner of the Osun west senatorial district by-election.
In what was supposed to be a hotly contested election which took place on Saturday, July 9, Adeleke defeated the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mudashiru Hussain who had the backing of Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

The Punch reports that Adeleke who was the brother to the late Isiaka Adeleke whose demise necessitated the by-election got 97, 480 and won 9 out of the 10 local governments.
His opponent, Hussain won just a single local government securing 66,116 votes
