BREAKING: Lagos High Court orders final forfeiture of cash seized from Ikoyi flat

The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has granted the final forfeiture of the cash seized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from an apartment in Ikoyi apartment, to the Federal Government.

Legit.ng had previously reported that a court in Lagos state has ordered that the $43,449,947, £27,800 and N23,218,000 recovered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from an apartment in the Ikoyi area of the state be temporarily forfeited to the Nigerian government.

The EFCC operatives had in April found $38 million, £27,000 and N23 million in a private residence on Gerrard Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, acting on a tip-off by a whistleblower.
