Barcelona came from two goals down to win 4 - 2 against Eibar at Camp Nou, but that was not enough to win La Liga for the Catalan club.

Luis Enrique's men came into the final game of the season three points behind Real Madrid and depended on Malaga to defeat Madrid to win a third consecutive La Liga title.

The day was however to start on a bad note as Takashi Inui capitalized on a defensive error to score past Marc Ter-Stegen.

Two minutes later, Luis Suarez missed an opportunity to equalize after he was fed through by an impressive Lionel Messi.

The Japanese added his second in the 61st minute to put Eibar 2 - 0 up at Camp Nou in the most dramatic fashion.

David Junca scored an own goal after deflecting Jordi Alba's cross into his own net and Messi was given the opportunity to equalize via the penalty spot.

The Argentine however missed, but his blushed would be saved by Suarez who equalized in the 73rd minute.

Messi would however atone for his sins as he scored in the 75th minute to put the Catalans ahead. La Pulga would add a second in the 90th minute of the game.

Barca won 4 - 2, but that was not enough to win La Liga as Real Madrid claimed the league with a 2 - 0 win away to Malaga.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema scored the goals as Los Blancos secured a first league title since 2012 when Jose Moruinho was in charge.

Madrid finished with 93 points, Barca with 90 points while Atletico Madrid finished third with 78 points.
