Nnamdi Kanu pays courtsey visit to Ekweremadu, Abaribe, T. A Orji, others (photos)

- The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra Nnamdi Kanu has visited the deputy senate president Ike Ekweremadu

- Kanu's paid a courtesy visit to Ekweremadu in his Abuja residence on Tuesday, May 1

- Senators including Enyinnaya Abaribe, Theodore Orji, Mao Ohabunwa, Sam Egwu among others were present at the meeting

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra Nnamdi Kanu on Tuesday, May 2, paid a courtesy visit to the deputy senate president Ike Ekweremadu in his Abuja residence.

The IPOB leader, Legit.ng gathered made the visit ion appreciation for the efforts played by Ekweremadu and other South-East senators in perfecting his bail.

Sources close to the parties also told Legit.ng that Kanu's visit "was a continuation of the mandate given to the IPOB leader by 'Chukwu Okike Abiama' God to liberate his people from slavery."

One of the sources said: "He was at Ekweremadu's residence to thank him and other senators including Enyinnaya Abaribe,Theodore Orji, Mao Ohoabunwa among many others for their efforts in ensuring his release from Kuje Prison."

The source added that Kanu also thanked the senators on their 'behind the scene' roles played to put the President Muhammadu Buhari's administration on their toes.

Another source said: "Yes, Kanu was at Ekweremadu's house, with Senator Abaribe and others."

"He was there to reinforce his preparedness for the liberation of his people through the actualization of Biafra and to brief them on his plan to continue his mandate which is the actualization of Biafra so that they will not be taken unawares by his moves" the source said.

It was also gathered that the IPOB leader intimated the senators of the role played by some Yoruba leader including a former minister of aviation Femi Fani-Kayode and the Ekiti state governor Ayodele Fayose in his release and what he discussed with the former during a courtesy visit to his Abuja residence on Monday, May 1.

Recall that Ekweremadu, Abaribe and many other South-East senators were instrumental to the release of the IPOB leader from prison.

Abaraibe, Legit.ng gathered stood for Kanu, as surety with the support of the other senators.

Kanu was released from Kuje Prison on Friday, April 28, following the bail granted to him by Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja last Tuesday, April 25.

He spent one year and six months in detention after his was arrested by operatives of the Department of State Securities in Lagos upon his return from the United Kingdom on October 14, 2015.
