  • Ogiri or Okpei as a traditional seasoning;

  • Three smoked fish (medium size);
  • One stock fish (medium size);
  • A bunch of Water Leaf, Bitter Leaf, Uziza Leaf or Afang Leaf;
  • Three seasoning cubes, like Suppy, Royco, Knorr or Maggi;
  • Five cooking spoons of Palm Oil;
  • One cup of crayfish (grounded);
  • Iced Fish (smoked).

  • Place a dry pot on fire;
  • Pour four spoons of Palm oil;
  • When the oil is heated – place the Egusi-water paste onto the oil and fry it;
  • Allow it to fry completely (it should look like a fried egg);
  • Put the meat content onto the fried Egusi and allow it to bubble;
  • Add some crayfish and other elements;
  • Add the pumpkin, water leaf, bitter leaf, Oziza leaf or Afang leaf;
  • Stir the content for few minutes;
  • Now you can serve the dish happily.

  • Heat the meat stock again;
  • Add one cup of water to the meat if it`s needed;
  • Allow the meat to boil and add some moulded Egusi;
  • Allow the content to simmer for ten minutes without stirring;
  • Add the traditional seasoning ingredients, seasoning cubes, pepper and ground crayfish;
  • Add the dressed smoked fish;
  • Allow the substance to simmer for ten more minutes;
  • Boil the substance until the Egusi forms the “chunks”;
  • Add the vegetable content to the soup and boil for five more minutes stirring it all the time;
  • At the end, you should add Afang leaf, Water Leaf, pumpkin, bitter leaf or Oziza leaf;
  • Your dish is ready for serving!
