Saraki visits Babangida allegedly over 2019 presidency
Nigeria’s Senate president, Bukola Saraki, on Sunday, March 19 commenced consultations with prominent citizens of the country ahead of 2019.
Saraki, who is believed to be eyeing the presidency currently occupied by Muhammadu Buhari, visited former military leader, Ibrahim Babangida at the latter’s home in Minna, the capital of Niger state.

Daily Trust reports that some of those who went on the journey with the Senate president include Governor Alhaji Umar Ganduje of Kano and Dino Melaye.
At the time of this report, details of their discussion had not been revealed. Saraki has also not officially reacted.
However, sources privy to the meeting said part of what was discussed centred on the 2019 general election.
Saraki is touted to have his eyes fixed on the presidency. Political analysts claim that is his ultimate goal.

If he truly declares interest anytime soon, it could mean that President Buhari would have a lot of northern figures to contend with during the election.
