President Buhari meet governors at NEC session
- President Muhammadu Buhari met some governors at the Presidential Villa on Thursday, March 16
- The governors are attending a meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC)
- Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo is presiding over the meeting
President Buhari this afternoon met state governors during the ongoing NEC meeting at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock.
According to Daily Trust, President Buhari went round inside the Council Chambers to shake hands with all the governors in attendance.
After the president exchanged pleasantires with the governors, journalists were thereafter asked to leave.
Few minutes later, the president left for his office, even as it is not clear what the president discussed with the governors.

This is the president's first interaction with the state governors since his return to Nigeria on Friday, March 10 from his medical vacation in London.
He also approved some of the requests of the state chief executives at the meeting.
The National Economic Council, headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, is composed of the 36 state governors, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and relevant ministers.
Ekiti state governor; Ayodele Fayose and his Rivers state counterpart, Nyesome Wike are however absent at the meeting.
Governor Wike has not visited the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja in the last four months.
One month ago, the governor said he stopped visiting the nation's capital due to thehe stopped visiting the nation's capital due to the ‘excessive prevalence of lies’ in Abuja.
