Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly ransacked a mansion owned by George Turnah, a godson to former President Goodluck Jonathan.
The Nation reports that the heavily armed operatives and soldiers stormed the palatial building located at Kolo Creek, Ogbia local government at about 5pm on Friday, February 3 and searched the entire building till 10pm.
It was learnt that the 33-year-old Turnah fled his multi-billion naira Kolo Creek Villa which he built with a gold-plated fence and gate just moments before the EFCC team arrived. His whereabouts are still unknown while his phones are reportedly switched off.
The report said there was no confirmation of recovered money, but that cheque books and financial documents were taken away by the anti-graft agency currently allegedly investigating acclaimed corrupt enrichment against the former president’s godson, especially in relation to the disappearance of money allocated to the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
