BREAKING: Makarfi faction orders Sheriff out of PDP secretariat

Senator Ahmed Makarfi, head of the sacked National Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has demanded that the factional national chairman of the party Senator Ali Modu Sheriff vacate the party’s national secretariat in Abuja immediately to avoid chaos.

The Punch reports that Makarfi said Sheriff, despite being declared the authentic national chairman of the PDP by the Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt, Rivers state on February 17, must wait until the Supreme Court makes its own pronouncement on the case.

Prince Dayo Adeyeye, the spokesperson for the faction, stated this at a press briefing in Abuja on Monday, February 27 while accusing the police of favouring the former governor of Borno State in the crisis.

Adeyeye said that the Makarfi-faction want Sheriff out of the secretariat in order to avoid breakdown of law and order.

Factional national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator Ali Modu Sheriff has asked the Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt, Rivers state to jail factional leader Senator Ahmed Makarfi, and some of his loyalists.

The Punch reports that apart from Makarfi, Sheriff wants the trio of sacked factional national caretaker committee secretary Senator Ben Obi and publicity secretary Dayo Adeyeye as well as former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode jailed.
