On-air-personality Toke Makinwa’s estranged husband Maje Ayida has made true his threat of suing his erstwhile wife if she does not stop the sale of her book On Becoming.

Ayida has instituted a legal action against Makinwa over her tell-all memoir which he claims contained defamatory words about him.

Through his lawyers, Kemi Pinheiro (SAN) of Pinheiro LP, Ayida has initiated legal proceedings at the Lagos judicial division of the High Court, Lagos state.

The publisher of On Becoming Kachifo Limited was also sued alongside Toke. In the lawsuit, Ayida is demanding N100m in damages. The suit was filed February 7, 2017.

Meanwhile, the gym expert has requested the court to donate damages awarded him to four charities which will be nominated by him.

In December, 2016, Maje’s lawyer Pinheiro LP had served Makinwa letters of demand which she never respected.

In the letter, Ayida has demanded that she retracts the defamatory words contained in the memoir and to tender an unreserved apology in several national dailies.

Rather than observe the letters served her, Makinwa has been going around the globe promoting her book. Since she got the letter, the media personality has taken her book to Ghana, London on Friday, February 24, 2017 among others to launch in an elaborate event.
