A resident of Goska Kafancchan community Kaduna has narrated how himself and other community members were prevented from accessing relief materials distributed by the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC).
The resident said they were on their way to partake of the of the distribution on Monday, February 14, when the attack happened.

Alhamadu Maikari who spoke to Legit.ng said the attackers shot sporadically in the air sending some community members to different locations.
"We were heading to where the Red Cross people were sharing food, but of the villagers just came and said they saw some herdsmen at the back.
"So, some of the men went to that area to chase them away but we started hearing gunshots and we all ran away," he said.

Maikari said the community had been under series of attack since December 4, 2016.

However speaking to Legit.ng, the media officer for ICRC Esther Akpa said some team from committee had visited the community to distribute relief items to victims of conflict in the area but were not attacked in the process.
She however said that the team were already done with the distribution when gunshots were heard.
"I called the officer who is in charge of distribution in there was no attack as such on the team, there was distribution in Goska town, Southern Kaduna on Monday but what happened was, as they were rounding up distribution, they heard gun fire in Goska town.

By that time, they had finished distribution so they left, there was no attack at the time there were distributing.
Akpa also told Legit.ng that the population targeted by the ICRC were already covered before the gunshots were heard in Goska.
