MASSOB warns Okorocha, Obiano
- MASSOB has cautioned Governor Okorocha and his Anambra state counterpart Obiano to stop washing their dirty clothes in the public
- The group advises both leaders and other governors of the South East zone to emulate the simplicity and humility of the former governor Peter Obi
The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) on Monday, February 6, warned Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state and his Anambra state counterpart, Chief Willie Obiano to keep quiet and stop washing their dirty clothes in the public.
This comes even as the group advised both leaders and other governors of the South East zone to emulate the simplicity and humility of the former governor Peter Obi, as the best Igbo governor during his era, The Sun reports.

In a statement through its leader, Uchenna Madu, MASSOB noted that the governors have exhibited poor leadership characters.
The group identified lack of unity, cohesion, understanding and commitment to the zone by the two Igbo governors as reasons for the recent ugly development.
Madu said: “The current poor leadership of the South East Governors’ Forum under Rochas Okorocha and non-cooperation of his colleagues have immensely affected the collective interest of Ndigbo in Nigeria.
“They place their party interests ahead of Igbo interest, they have never condemned or spoken out against the unwarranted and unprovoked killings of our people by Fulani herdsmen in Enugu, Abia, Anambra and Imo states.
“Also, they have not condemned the genocide against non-violent Biafra agitators.”

He added: “During the era of Mr. Peter Obi as the governor of Anambra state and chairman of South East Governors’ Forum, this rascality and embarrassment of Ndigbo did not occur because of his leadership quality which was anchored on Igbo interest first before party and personal interests.
“Obi was the unifying factor of Igbo Governors’ Forum and Igbo interest, even the former governors that served with him worked as a family and spoke with one voice for the zone under his leadership.
“MASSOB warns that washing one’s dirty clothes in the public is not the best option and that political party interests can never be exchanged for the general interest of Ndigbo.
“Today, our political detractors are happy, celebrating this political madness that is capable of disorganising our people.
“As the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has assured of dismantling the embers of discord between the two governors, MASSOB wants the governors to know that Igbo land is bigger than them and they must cooperate with the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo for a lasting peace and harmony in the land.”
Recall that Okorocha and Obiano have been engaged in verbal war following a statement by the Imo governor that three South East governors would soon join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
