With the political siege on Rivers state claimed to be masterminded by the All Progressive Congress (APC), some former ministers belonging to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have pledged their support to Governor Wike.
The Rivers state governor has gained the support of some ex-ministers who served under PDP. The former ministers have asked Nyesom Wike to stand firm and not be shaken with all the uproar caused by APC.
The former ministers paid a solidarity visit to the governor at the government house in Portharcourt. They hailed Wike for providing the desired form of leadership for the people of Rivers state and praised him more for being a pillar of democracy.
The team was led by Dr Sule Lamido, the chairman of the forum of former ministers. The former ministers encouraged Wike to put his eyes on the promotion of the creed of democracy. The governor was urged to remain undaunted by whatever moves made by the opposing political party.
The chairman stressed that they are with him in times of trouble and will support him come rain come shine. They claim to be aware of the siege laid by the anti-democratic forces. Dr Sule Lamido added that the voice of the people must be heard irrespective of the storm going on.
