Breaking: 12 dead in terror attack on Christmas market in Berlin (Video)
At least 12 people have been killed on December 19 when a truck plowed into crowds at a Christmas market in the German capital of Berlin.
48 people were wounded, some of them seriously. German police previously said that 9 people had died and at least 50 were injured.
A lorry ploughed through a crowd of shoppers at 40mph in a busy on December 19, Monday.
The incident occurred in one of Berlin’s largest Christmas markets, located in the western Charlottenburg district.
It is also close to Berlin’s key shopping mile, Kurfuerstendamm, and a famous tourist site, Memorial Church.

The incident is likely to be a terror attack, according to police officers.
A message on the official police Twitter account said: “We can confirm nine fatalities & many injured. A lot of our colleagues are at #Breitscheidplatz to investigate the background.”
The attack came just hours after the Russian ambassador to Turkey had been shot dead in the Turkish capital Ankara by a policeman who claimed to be taking revenge for Moscow’s involvement in the battle for Syria.
In July a lorry struck a crowd after Bastille Day celebrations in the French city of Nice, killing at least 80 people, comprising children, and injuring dozens.
