Wizkid & Kah – Lo: The 2 Nigerians nominated for a Grammy
2016 has been a great year for Nigerian music. This point cannot be overstated. And one man has been at the forefront of the conquest of the Nigerian sound on the world scene. His name? Ayodeji Balogun aka Wizkid.
The Starboy records CEO was nominated for a Grammy award for his contribution to Canadian superstar musician Drake’s 2016 album Views in the album of the year category. Wizzy was featured as a producer and guest singer on the lead single, One Dance.

However, Wizkid was not the only Nigerian nominated for a Grammy this year. Kah-Lo, a British - Nigerian musician known for her vocals on the song Rinse and Repeat by British DJ, Riton was also nominated for the Best Dance Recording of the year. Kah – Lo has also reacted to her nomination. Writing via Instagram that: “OLUWA DID IT! @ritontime has all the swag sauce!”

The nominations are led by Beyoncé with 9 nominations, followed by similarly huge stars Drake, Rihanna and Kanye West (8 each). This year’s ceremony will take place take place on February 12, 2017.
