Social media activist, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman, has reacted to the recent change in the name of one of the popular bus stops in Lagos State. A few days ago, it was announced that Charly Boy Bus Stop has been renamed to Baddo Bus Stop.

The video came as a surprise to many, with reactions flooding social media as people dragged the Yorubas and the Igbos.

Sharing his thoughts on the name change, VDM noted that this was a typical “mind game” played every time an election approaches. According to him, the government was simply setting up the Yorubas against the Igbos.

He expressed his disappointment with the people who reacted to the video, emphasizing that the individuals behind the name change don't care about Olamide or Charly Boy. VDM affirmed that it was tribalism to put the Yorubas against the Igbos.

VDM shares strategy used during elections

Explaining further, VDM stated that tribalism is one of the important tools politicians use during elections. He suggested that with the renaming of the bus stop, the government was instigating the Yorubas against the Igbos.

Citing an event from a few years ago during the election, VDM recalled that MC Olumo was seen shouting "Baba Chukwudi, Iya Chukwudi." He noted that the government is setting up one tribe against another.

VDM shares more election strategies

VDM went on to share three common strategies used by the government: money, tribalism, and religion. He asserted that these tools are used to create competition and division among different tribes, further driving them apart.

The activist added that Charly Boy Bus Stop will forever remain Charly Boy Bus Stop, just like every detergent is called Omo and every seasoning cube is called Maggi. He also mentioned that Charly Boy and Olamide are two different giants in their respective fields, and speculated that Olamide may not even be aware of the name change.

VDM warns Nigerians ahead of elections

In his warning, VDM urged Nigerians not to be carried away by small distractions. He advised them not to let these issues divert attention from the main focus of the election.

Recall that VDM regularly shares his views on current events in the country. He previously shared his opinion about the ADC coalition and what Peter Obi should be prepared for.
