Breaking: Tanker fire kills 5 along Abuja-Lokoja road in Kogi

There has been a fire outbreak along the Abuja-Lokoja highway in Kogi which claimed the lives of about five persons on Monday, November 18.
This happened as a petrol tanker with a faulty brake around the Felele axis crashed into five vehicles at the NNPC mega station in the area.
The Nation reports that the development has triggered protest among young persons in the area, although the police command in the state has not released any report on the incident.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported previously that there was a fire outbreak at Gowon Estate in Ipaja located within the Alimosho local government area of Lagos state.
The Lagos State Emergency Agency (LASEMA) said that the inferno was caused when a tanker conveying stolen petroleum product from a vandalised pipeline came in contact with an electric pole.
LASEMA said that the incident took place at the back of Honeyland School, Abesan Estate, Ipaja, adding that no causalities were recorded as residents in the area helped the state's fire service to put out the flames.

The agency said that it had contacted men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) as well as officials of NNPC for the trans-loading and recoup of the petrol in tanker and truck of vandals.
