The Association of Buhari Diehard Supporters have cried out that they were abandoned by President Muhammadu Buhari after the latter won the 2015 presidential election.

Addressing newsmen in Kano, leader of the group, Musa Inuwa, said the president did not reward them for their efforts towards his success since 2003 when he began contesting for the presidency, Vanguard reports.

Legit.ng gathers that Inuwa said the association fought sacrificially during Buhari’s electioneering campaigns and were even jailed in Karshi prison for participating in the president’s support protest in 2007.

Recalling how then presidential candidate Buhari’s convoy was blocked from entering Daura upon his return, Inuwa said, “it was we, the Buhari diehards that fought and made way for him and his entourage to enter the town against all odds.”

He alleged that those Buhari surrounded with, who were now enjoying the spoils of his administration, were people who didn’t truly love him and did not fully take part in his political struggles.

Inuwa further stated that Nigerians expected a better performance from the president, especially as regards the economy, health and security.

He said: “We, true lovers of Buhari, expected to see better Nigeria than this, especially in the area of economy, security, health and electricity. Despite the fact that Buhari boasted of generating 7000 MW but there is basically nothing to show.”
