Veteran actor Alfred Rotimi Popoola dies in Ogun state after brief illness
The Nollywood industry has once again been thrown into turmoil after a member of the Yoruba movie sector passed away. Veteran actor Honourable Alfred Rotimi Popoola has reportedly passed away.
It was gathered that the actor who is also known as Ilu Venture had reportedly died on the night of Wednesday, February 27.
Popoola who resided in Abeokuta, Ogun state had died after a brief illness. It was reported that the veteran would be laid to rest this Thursday, February 28.
A statement announcing the sad incident had been made available by the Abeokuta chapter of Theater Arts and Motion Picture Producer's Association of Nigeria.

The statement revealed that a memorial service would be held at St Jude Cathedral Church in Iberekodo. It was also stated that the event would take place around 12 noon.

“It saddens me to announce the untimely death of our beloved colleague *Hon. Alfred Rotimi Popoola aka Ilu Venture*. After brief sickness today *27th Feb., 2019.* There will be a short memorial service at St Jude Cathedral Church, Iberekodo, Abeokuta by 12:00noon tomorrow.
